Celebrate the Nest Grand Opening at MABA Education Center
April 24, 2024
Find or deepen your connection to art and nature at The Nest, the new community gathering space, maker space, and art studio at the Museum of American Bird Art in Canton. During this free opening celebration, people of all ages can participate in a variety of creative activities inspired by the natural world.
Activities
Among the nature-inspired activities, you can:
- Create nature-themed monotype prints using different inks, materials, and custom stencils of flowers, wood frogs, butterflies, owls, and more.
- Make custom buttons out of monotype prints to wear and take home.
- Design and create your own hand crafted and custom nature journal.
- Go on a self-guided journaling activity walk that will teach you how to create quick landscape sketches out on the trail.
- Take a tour of the maker space tools like the laser cutter and cutting machines.
What's Next for The Nest?
Later this spring and beyond, look for a full suite of programming at The Nest that includes nature journaling, printmaking, drawing animals from life, ceramics, photography, and other art workshops inspired by the natural world.
